Sky Arrow Aircraft - The Sky Arrow 650 TCN was introduced in Italy in March 1996 and in the United States in October 1997. The engine was certified to FAR 33 and the propeller to FAR 35. Noise tested in accordance with FAR 36, Appendix G and ICAO Annex 16, Chapter 10.
The Sky Arrow 650 TCN is certified for day and night VFR in the US and countries that recognize Advisory Circular AC-23.11. They are used for recreation, sports, training and aerial surveillance. In the UK they are also certified in the transport (passenger) category. The aircraft, due to its tandem configuration, can also be used for military initial training. For this reason, pneumatic gyroscope instruments with coupled motor and pump drive are part of the standard configuration. Due to the possibility of use in night operations, navigation, strobe, landing, cabin and map lights are installed, as well as an additional alternator.

The fuselage is made almost entirely of carbon fiber embedded in an epoxy resin matrix. Kevlar is used in some areas, such as the cabin, where extra strength is required for justification. The two hull halves are joined together in a vertical plane.

Internally, the hull has six smaller compartments and two main ones. One of these compartments supports the main landing gear and engine. The aircraft can be controlled from any seat.
The front rudder pedals are adjustable. The luggage compartment is located behind the rear seat and can fit small bags under it. The fuel tank is located behind this seat, in the fuselage.
The one-piece sailboat-style canopy provides exceptional outward visibility. Engine and fuel tank attachments have been repeatedly tested in landing simulations up to 18g.
The airfoil is a modified Gottinga 398 for better handling at low speeds. Each wing is attached to the fuselage with 3 screws (two in the root rib and one at the wing strut) with tabs and easily removable safety pins.

The wings and control surfaces are made of carbon fiber. Both wings are from the "C" section. The wings are activated electrically and are positioned at 0, 10, 20 and 30 degrees. The ailerons are activated by aluminum control rods and bells.
Fixed tricycle landing gear. The main landing gear leaf springs are made of fiberglass roving. The gear nose is steel and carbon fiber. There is a donut shock absorber and a shim shock absorber. Free nose gear casting. Steering is provided by a combination of manual main wheel differential braking (low speed) and rudder actuation (high speed).
The engine is a Rotax 912F, certified to FAR 33, with a maximum power of 81 hp at 5,800 rpm. The engine is horizontally opposed, 4 cylinder, 4 stroke type. It features liquid-cooled cylinder heads and air-cooled cylinders, dual ignition, oil dry carburetors, dual carburetors, and a clutch-driven propeller reduction gearbox. The engine consists of an internal and external alternator. The engine mount is made of aircraft steel tubing. Propeller 2 blade, fixed pitch, certified to FAR 35.
The rudder is made of thermanto core with a fiberglass sandwich. It rides with twin cables and an aluminum rod through the bell handle. Both the horizontal stabilizer and elevator are sandwiched in carbon fiber, in an epoxy resin matrix, with an electrically actuated trim tab. Aluminum control rods actuate the elevator.

Electricity is provided by a twelve-volt battery located in the nose of the aircraft and supplied to the electrical system via a bus. A 40-amp external alternator, driven by a belt attached to the propeller shaft, provides power to the battery and main electrical bus. A second internal 18-amp alternator provides power to the engine's ignition system and also serves as an emergency power source in the event of a primary alternator failure.
Circuit protection is provided by circuit breakers located in the instrument panel. The instrument panel is ready to accept different devices in addition to the standard ones.
